I chose Tools...User Preferences...Map and Rollover and checked the 'Scale
oversized images on rollover' box, and also changed the Detail rollover length
from 250 to 500. When I clicked Update, the Icon Set changed to QuestMap!

I just tested this on the Tiger version and did not get the change to the Icon
Set. It saved the check and the change to the Detail rollover length fine and
my Icon Set stayed the same.

Are you sure you did not change the Icon Set by mistake?
Did you do anthing else appart from work on the Map and Rollover tab?
Did you try repeating the steps and did it happen again?

Yes, I'm sure.

I've tried this a couple of different ways, and it has happened.

Did you try repeating the steps and did it happen again?

Just tried it again, it didn't happen. So I guess it's not a problem anymore?
(Mac 1.5.2).
